During the next
two weeks – you are going to be DOING three things to get your business
off to a great start!
Please use the
Sample Start-up Calendar as a guide. Follow these simple steps and
you WILL be successful!
1. Your Business Launch (“Kick Off”)
Party
The purpose of
your kick off party is to introduce everyone you know to your new
business. Your sponsor or I will “Hostess Coach” you as if you are the
hostess and not a consultant.

Choose your
kick off date (preferably in less than 14 days) Date: _____________
·
Get your
invites out in 48 hours
·
Invite
EVERYONE you know (go through lists in your phone book, neighbors,
family members, your child’s friends… etc)
·
Make phone
calls – and follow up a few days before the party
·
Get excited
& let it show!
When you call up
your friends… you can say….
“Hello Suzy, this
is _______ calling. Do you have a minute? I just became a consultant
with Usborne Books. I truly love these books. They are fun and
educational and best of all “little Johnny” loves them. I am having a
KICK OFF party to introduce my friends to the books. I really need the
support of friendly faces. Can I count on you to be there?”
2. Observing Parties
It would benefit
you GREATLY if you could observe at least ONE party in the next three
weeks. This is in addition to your kick off party. First talk with
your sponsor and see what she has on her calendar. Then, call your
Supervisor if you can observe one of her parties. This will help you run
your own parties more smoothly when you do them, as well as give you
some ideas to get you started. If you are long distance your
sponsor/supervisor can will help you find a local consultant or super!
3. Scheduling Your Own Parties
By now you have
probably started working on your
BOOKING LEAD NOTEBOOK.
Call your friends and offer them a HUGE FAVOR by scheduling a
party with you. The company gives them DOUBLE FREE books (twice as
much) to the first 20 hostesses during your first 12 weeks.

Neighbors,
Relatives, New Parents, Working Moms, People from Holiday Card List, Day
Care Centers, Preschools, Families with Children, Grandmothers, Friends
from School/College, People from Religious Organizations, Child-related
Organizations, Colleagues from Work (or Spouse’s Work), New
Acquaintances, Craft Festivals, Doctor and Dentist Offices, Contacts
from Newspapers, Teachers, Homeschoolers, Stay-at-Home Moms
**Do NOT wait
until your kick off party to start booking parties – get these friends
on the phone now and book 6 parties immediately. I REALLY,
REALLY, REALLY want you to book 5-6 parties during weeks 3, 4 and 5
….This will get you off to a GREAT start.**
When you call your
friends you can say something like this…
“Hello Joanne, this
is _________calling. Do you have a minute? I have just joined a
company called Usborne Books. Have you ever heard of them? Well, I was
so impressed with the company and my kids fell in love with the books
that I just wanted to share them with everyone I know. I need the help
of my friends because I need to do some “practice parties” in the next 6
weeks. I am asking all my closest friends to help me out here. I
can guarantee you $100 in FREE and DEEPLY discounted books if you help
me out. I would so appreciate your help. I have Tuesdays,
Wednesdays and Thursdays free. Which day would be best for you? (WAIT
QUIETLY) Thanks, your kids will love the books! I will show you just
what to do to make sure that you have a great party. (i.e. Hostess
Coaching) This is going to be awesome!”
When you call
them…
·
Smile when
you talk! (It DOES make a difference in your tone of voice!)
Be excited! You found a GREAT product and you want to share it with
them!

Ask
FRIENDS/FAMILY to support you! Tell them you want to be successful and
you need their help to do so!

If she is
not interested, ask her if she knows anyone who loves to do home
parties.
This is the
FOUNDATION for a successful business. Doing 6 home parties in your
first five weeks is like that “first week on the job”. If you follow
this formula, after week 5 – you will have a good understanding of how
to Hostess Coach, Book Shows, Use Order Pro Online and have shows booked
for the near future as well as other leads to keep your business going!
What if my friends
can’t book a show in the first 5 weeks?
Don’t
say “No”. Book the show for them during your incentive period and KEEP
ON CALLING to get your first 6 parties in the first five weeks. I have
seen many team members come and go. The ones who follow this formula
are the ones who are the most successful!
